|Title:||FAPA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AND ISHIDATE AWARDS|
FAPA will be having its 27th biennal congress in Manila, Philippines on October 24-27, 2018 where FAPA will once again recognize outstanding pharmacists in their respective fields and contribution to the profession during the opening ceremonies.
There are 2 types of awards
- FAPA Lifetime Achievement Award (1 Awardee)
- Ishidate Awards (1 Awardee for each area of practice)
All nominations must be made through member organisation (namely MPS) with the required documents for each nominee submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org until January 31, 2018.
A. ISHIDATE AWARDS
The Awards were initiated in 1986 in recognition of the excellent contributions made by Asian Pharmacists distinguished in the field of 1) Hospital Pharmacy, 2) Pharmaceutical Research, 3) Industrial Pharmacy, 4) Pharmacy Education and 5) Community Pharmacy. The Awards given at the biennal FAPA Congress are also meant to instill commitment and pride for the pharmacy profession in Asia.
The Criteria for selection includes academic background, work experience, membership to professional, pharmaceutical or health-related organizations, publications in scientific journals, presentations made during pharmacy meetings, attendance in seminars, conferences and annual meetings, and attendance in the FAPA congress.
All Awardees are expected to attend the Award Ceremony which is held together with the Opening Ceremony of the FAPA Congress. The awardees are required to present a paper in the related section and is given free registration
B. FAPA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (LTAA)
FAPA LTAA is a distinguished award given to a pharmacist who during his or her lifetime has made lasting outstanding life-long contributions for the betterment and benefit not just the pharmacy profession but also pharmacy institutions and society. It is to be international in scope and stature.
The Award places a priority on demonstrable tangible persistent performance rather than those that are purely academic in nature, meaning the contribution must have an impact on practice and society, resulting in the improvement or betterment of the pharmacy profession.
The contribution must be recognized not just within the local community but also internationally.
Criteria for Award Documentary evidence supporting the nomination must have indications of: Significant or outstanding contributions that benefits the pharmacy profession and the environment of practice, either through research or other activities. The work carried out to be consistent and steadfast for a continuous period of at least 15 years. The contributions having demonstrable impact and influence on the advancement of the pharmacy profession and the wider community. Showing recognizable leadership and inspiration to the pharmacy community within and across national borders, and be exemplary in nature.
Prize The awardee shall receive a certificate, a FAPA gold plated medal and cash award.
