ELECTION OF MPS COUNCIL MEMBERS 2018 - VOTE NOW
Nine more days to go before the MPS 51st Annual General Meeting take place. A total of 26 candidates are willing to come forward to serve the Society for at least the next 2 years and it is up to members to decide 15 out of this 26 be given this honour. The candidates are:

Please send in your vote as soon as possible using the ballot paper and the special self-addressed envelope. This envelope is prefixed with the necessary postage stamp sufficient for this envelope size and weight. Do not place/insert any other document inside this envelope as it will increase the weight and the postage stamp affixed may not be enough. Also it will be opened only during the AGM in Hotel Istana
The ballot paper has been despatched out on 27th March 2018 to the member last known address.
If you are attending the AGM, you may also personally submit your ballot paper at the AGM site on 28th April
MPS ANNUAL SEMINAR 2018
The 51st Annual Seminar will take place on 27-29 April 2018 at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur
The seminar will begin in the afternoon of 27th April, running through to 29th April, with a break on 28th April afternoon for the 51st MPS AGM followed by the Annual Dinner
The topics range is wide but it shows that leveraging among healthcare professionals can give better patient outcomes which is the theme of the Seminar.
On day 1, there is a talk on Improving Access to High Cost Medicine through Collaboration, Increasing Patient Access to Medicines wiith DNDi efforts, Nutritional Needs in Women's Health and also the MyPharmAssist program lecture. On this day, one can also register for this program online at booth no, 22 for more modules and get a gift for it.
Day 2 will have topic on pain management, urticarial and other dermatology topics and how community pharmacist can make a difference, including on what collaboration among physicians and pharmacist can do for healthcare on patients. Another series of modules for community pharmacists will be highlighted (Complementary Medicines Education) with a talk by a practising pharmacist on her experience with CMEd. (CMEd Talk information)
On day 3, will have another talk on Successful Engagement among Private Healthcare Providers, talks on painkillers and gastro products ending with a forum about Future of Pharmacy into e-commerce.
On Day 2 will be the MPS 51st AGM and annual dinner. Do not forget to vote for the next Council Members and office bearers, and enjoy the Annual Dinner later in the night. Lucky draw prizes range from supplements hampers, household electrical items, and a surprise Grand Prize. A foreign artiste is also engaged to provide entertainment for the evening
It will be a worthwhile weekend, getting 12 CPD points for the seminar, and 2 CPD points for the AGM.

The FAPA Congress 2018 will take place on Oct 24-27, 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Manila, Philippines
The Theme is: Pharmacists for the Global Goals: Creating Value Beyond Health
It would seem that in 2016, seventeen (17) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development officially came into force. Over the next 15 years, these new Global Goals will drive all countries to address the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. For these Global goals, Pharmacists with their unique technical expertise and skills will have the competencies to influence areas beyond health towards reducing inequities, raising basic standards of living, and fostering equitable social development.
Come once again in another gathering of brilliant minds and passionate hearts to move the Pharmacy Profession towards a bigger, better and stronger contribution to the people of Asia in FAPA 2018
